Seeing those words “Planning Permission Granted” is always a highlight of the job and this approval is even more sweet due to the nature of the approval.
First submitted in July 2021, we worked positively with various different planning officers at West Northamptonshire Council towards a positive outcome. Along with our client, we wanted to deliver an enhancement to the beautiful St Giles Street and strongly felt it important to retain the existing façade of the stunning building.
Eventually, the project was recommended for refusal.
HOWEVER, at the Northampton Area Planning Committee earlier this week, we were successful in overturning that recommendation with the Committee voting 4-1 in favour of the scheme.
A great result which is ultimately down to the dedicated approach taken by the application team: Joby Simson, Alex Jelley of Alpine Planning Ltd and Archways Real Estate.
